Hello Charley
I've had chemo, mastectomy with immediate reconstruction using Becker implant under the muscle, radiotherapy and second mastectomy and recon to get the best match possible. I did not have nipple sparing but still have the areolas which could be used to create nipples with tattoos around them if I choose. I loved my small natural breasts and wish I could have kept them but that was not an option. I am, however pretty pleased with what I now have. They have been named Bruce and Willis!
I have documented all my surgery and there are plenty of photographs (which reminds me I haven't taken one since my final saline top-up last week) on my website. It is an adult website...I have linked this one to my profile to show that, even for someone who relies on their breasts to make a living, breast cancer can be overcome.
I do have a "safe for work" blog and I can message you the link to that if you'd prefer.

Hi Rebecca, I'm new to the group and was diagnosed with BRCA1 gene. I am at the stage of talking through a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction too. What can I expect and how long did it take to recover please?
