I’m tired 24/7 my sleep isn’t great at the best of times but since diagnosis in July it’s even worse. I’m lying on the sofa by 2pm with my eyes shut but can’t fall asleep. I’m constantly thinking when will my op date arrive how bad will it be after it’s done   I am on loads of different painkillers so should be fine it’s just the unknown. I’ve been taking b12 spray to see if it will help any other tips would be great

  • Hi there, that tiredness sounds really frustrating.  Have you talked to your GP or specialists about it?   You could also try chatting to the lovely people here at Macmillan. From 8am to 8pm every day they are available on 0800 808 0000 and might have some ideas for you as well. Best wishes

  • It's so hard switching off the brain. Sometimes I find it pointless give up and read a book. Then I wake up later kindle on my chest and my glasses crooked. The other way is to sort of reset. Go down make a drink and some toast. Then try again. Other people give up completely and get on with ironing or batch cooking ready for after surgery. That depends who you live with. You don't want to be crashing about if family is trying to sleep.

When I was struggling to sleep on my back after surgery I would use a yoga technique, that way of I didn't sleep I was relaxing and resting.

This is the very worst time. I promise it is easier once you know what is going on and you hit the treadmill.

    Sending hugs.

Three times! What did I do?
