Hello. I had a single mastectomy and lymph nodes removal 2024 all went smoothly and healed well
I asked in February 2025 for the other breast to be removed, as it's large and weighty and uncomfortable. My surgeon agreed. I saw a psychiatrist and was told to wait for a date.
Here's were it all started. October 2025, had pre-op surgery was cancelled no reason given
November, called two days before surgery cancelled no reason given
December, cancelled again, last minute, no reason given
Late December, pre-op done and date given. Cancelled again no reason.
Phoned surgeons secretary in march to be told very busy will get round to it, call back in two months.
Got a call on Monday from a private hospital, nearby, been referred to them for surgery pre-op this afternoon. Gets a call from pre-op nurse informing me due to my sarcoidosis and BMI they are ill equipped to do surgery there and gave sent referral back.
Absolutely devastated, surely someone knew when they sent my details there that they couldn't cater for me.
I'm at my wits end with all this. In agony and discomfort with my remaining breast and totally down hearted with the whole process.
Will it ever happen? Am I to live in this limbo forever, i barely go out , stuck waiting?
Who do I complain to there has to be some sort of ombudsman to tell of my disappointment?
