So thank you for your advice yesterday.  So I ended up in the critical assessment unit at around 5. I had bloods taken which showed that my platelets were low (white cells basically) my blood pressure was low and my electrolytes were low. My temperature had stabilised at that point. We had the usual fight to get bloods which caused me a lot of upset then they put me on intravenous fluids and antibiotics. I then had tablet antibiotics and phosphate tablets which unfortunately caused me to be sick a couple of times. I’ve got to go back this afternoon to collect antibiotics which I’ll be in for a few days and have 3 more rounds of the tummy injection for my immune system. Then more bloods on Friday. I got home around 9.45. X

  • Weirdly feeling ok , no different, but waiting for it to all change.. it’s very strange.. how’s you xxxx

  • Glad it all went ok..it is a long old day....it use to go quite quick for me as im so nosey...!..its so good to be able to talk to such a supportive group of people...xxx

  • Yeah such a long day but like I say it’s another one done , yeah I’m pretty nosey too was chatting to a nice lady next to me for a while on and off … so tiring doing nothing thou don’t feel too bad today but tired got bright red face obviously a reaction hope it goes down tomorrow .. completely diffent chemo to E/C .. no steroids today or anything just my normal meds I take .. just resting on the bed watching a old war black and white film … I’ve hoovered done the washing done lunch for tony to take and pottered around now need to rest how’s things been with you I hope your ok xxx

  • Hey Pollyperk! I also had a bright red face the day afterwards! Oncologist said it was a “steroid flush”. It did die down by the end of the day. How are you otherwise? Any aches? Did you go home with injections?  I feel better today (day 5 after chemo). Managed a lot more but my weekend was a right-off! Still got a bit of an upset stomach and horrible metallic taste in my mouth but overall I’d say this is a bit easier than the EC.  I’m seeing Oncologist this evening and will ask more about the red face! Hope you are ok xxxx

  • Hi yeah I strangely feel ok, it maybe because I had steroids and piriton Friday and another lot yesterday so maybe tomorrow I will probaly feel it , yeah got filgrastin injections they start tomorrow I’m letting district nurse do them it’s good to check in with them if I have a question they can answer … I’ve no weird taste yet I was constipated yesterday really bad they gave me something in the unit to take which worked when I returned home thank goodness glad your ok no aches yet but waiting for things to start … Hope you get on ok at your appointment let me know how it goes xxx

  • Appointment was good, just discussed the side effects that I had.  I take one filgrastin injection 24 hours after chemo. They reckon my bones and muscle aches may be related to that. Who knows?! All I know is that I feel better again this morning. This is defo easier than the EC for me.  My sister is flying down from Scotland today and staying for a week. I’m so happy about this! Husband and son are going away for the week so will have some wuality time with sis.  Be even better if I continue to feel ok.

How is Tony getting on? Any news about when he will have the biopsy done?
Hope today is another good day for you lovely xxx

  • Hi that’s great news your sister is arriving today have lots of quality time with each other , your feel heaps better having her close to you and the fact your feeling much better is already a bonus , Tony’s got consultation on the 29th with the plastic surgeon, I feel sick for him poor sod keeping everyone together and now he’s got this , don’t feel too bad I have got bad constipation again it’s agony , taken lactose but that takes a age to work , aparently the chemo nurse says it’s the sickness pill they give with the chemo meds so I need to be mindful for the next chemo … have a loverly time with your sister big hugs xxxx

  • Hi did you take anything for your bone and muscle aches mine have started today and I’ve not even had my fragrastin yet until later xxx
