  • Hi BWBCancer welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing this important piece of news. I feel sure others will be alarmed by this but will want to check their supplies and do what ever is required to keep themselves safe. Thank you again for sharing! Gail

  • Thank you so much BWB, for posting this important information so that people can check their meds.

The advice for patients is to carry on taking your medicines as prescribed, I've posted what the gov.uk site says below.

I think if you have this batch and you're worried, which I'm sure you would be, please speak with your GP before you stop taking it, as it's important not to miss doses.

Although pharmacies have been told to quarantine this batch and not supply any more, when you pick up any new tamoxifen prescriptions, check the make/batch number before leaving the pharmacy and if it is that make/batch number, ask the pharmacist to swap it over for a new batch.

    Hope it doesn't affect anyone.

    Thanks again.

    Advice for Patients:

Patients should continue to take medicines as prescribed by your healthcare professional. The recall is being actioned at the pharmacy and wholesaler level as a precautionary measure. No complaints of harm or lack of efficacy have been received from patients regarding this batch.

Patients who experience adverse reactions or have any questions about their medication should seek medical attention.
