Does any one have any advice on coping with the common side effects of Ribociclib such as bowel and bladder probelms, tiredness, hair loss etc. Any foods or supplements which help for example - any thing which helps you to "live with it"
Hi Yares, I am ribociclib but this is only my fourth cycle. I get very tired and notice my hair is getting really thin. I lost my hair twelve years ago when I first had chemo and I really dont want to lose it again. I have just started adding drops of rosemary and peppermint oil to my conditioner and only wash my hair once a week. I did have bowel problems but this seems to have settled down now. I would also like to know if there is anything to help.

Hi Lee Thanks for responding to my post and for telling me your exeperience, It's so helpful to hear from someone who has been taking the drug. Hair loss is distressing to say the least and Im sorry you've had to go through all this again. I am really dreading hair loss, and concerned about being tired as I have to be able to cope by myself. I found some helpful info on hair loss and solutions etc here https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/coping/physically/changes-appearance/hair-loss/get-wigs (I will resort to a wig if I really have to). I also have Lupus so my hair has thinned a bit and has phases of shedding. A trichologist told me to use 99% aloe vera gel on my scalp rather than rosemary oil etc as that can clog the hair folicles. So I've been using the aloe vera on my scalp and rosemary oil as a conditioner on my hair but not my scalp - I think it's helped. Whether this will work when I start ribciclib I'm not so sure. I'll keep looking for things to help cope with ribociclib and will post if I find anything. Take care
Hi aaprently 99% aloe vera gel stimulates hair growth, and for me it has helped. Trichologist - hair, scalp and associated conditions specialist. I don't have secondary breast cancer but have been offered Ribociclib - recent trial or change of use.......
