Recently found out I have breast cancer and will be having a mastectomy early January.  Now it seems hot flushes are in full swing!

Not the best of timings! Has anyone else had a similar experience with everything seeming to happen at once!

Thanks

  • Hi Wave hope you’re ok and all goes well with your upcoming surgery.

ohad to stop my HRT when o was diagnosed and have found my symptoms have slowly returned. I get bright red cheeks - my head gets hot, but not a flush as such, might sweats are back and achy joints again.

I’ll need the hormone suppressant drug for 5 years, really not looking forward to that!
I take Magnesium, turmeric tablets and Vitamin D. They take the edge off, once Xmas is over I’ll try to look at my diet and see if my tweaking that it helps with symptoms? For me alcohol makes it worse. With Xmas I’ve had a couple….but aim to do dry January and see if that helps xxx

  • I also had to come off hrt due to bc. I take magnesium but not sure what else I can take

  • I did ask my MacMillan nurse and got the ok on those. I was taking Collagen, had done way before BC but told me to stop that. I also took Ashwaganda and Lions Mane for Anxiety and Brain Fog but she wasn’t sure if they were ok, so I stopped those.

I really miss my HRT. I’d love to know what’s safe to take but maybe it depends on the individual person’s cancer?

Im not sure where to go for a definite answer xxx
