I came off HRT 3 months ago now on Letrozole. Suffering terrible night swets boo hoo. Any advice or tips???
Hi Pottyjanet welcome to the forum..Ah the lovely Letrozole!!!!! We need it because it keeps Cancer at bay but boy does it come with it's own issues. I'm thinking stopping the HRT may be the culprit to start with but I know this was raised recently in the breast cancer thread. There were a number of suggestions for night hot sweats snd these lovely folks will be along soon to offer up information and advice for you.
Hi Pottyjanet, I certainly know how you feel. When I was diagnosed in January I had to come off HRT which caused me to get hot flushes. I was prescribed Venlafaxine to help with this, which really helped. However, I started taking letrozole 4 weeks ago and the hot flushes have now returned. I have the option to up the Venlafaxine, but was hoping things might settle down over time. I too am interested in any tips that people have, hope you don't mind me jumping onto your thread. Xx
Your more than welcome to jump on. Hopefully someone on here will be able to give us some hints & tips that might help us sleep at night.
Hopefully, I know the lack of sleep is definitely making me feel a bit down. I was fine through chemo and recovered well after surgery, keeping a positive attitude throughout. But disturbed sleep, I'm finding difficult. Starting radiotherapy tomorrow as well and not looking forward to the journey during rush hour every day!
Hi there, so am I they are horrendous, every 30 mins throughout the day and night. My GP put me on clonidine. It's really for migraines but has been proven to help with hot flushes. I'm on the maximum dose (2 tabs 3 times a day). It has helped a little. Maybe you could try it? Good luck honey xx
Hello Jaxsterg
Thanks for replying, I will ask my doctor and see what she thinks. Xx
Hello klf
Many thanks for your reply. I do take it in the morning. And as you say the hot flushes are different from day to day. I have bought myself a hand held fan that I take everywhere.
