Hi everyone, has anyone had carpal tunnel syndrome?
I've been on letrozole for just over 2 years with quite a few side effects
January I found out I have lymphodema following axillary clearance, I have to wear a sleeve 24hrs
Last week I saw my gp with a painful wrist and fingers,he diagnosed carpal tunnel. Think this must be another side effect
I've got to wait for an appointment with the hospital
Any advice anyone?
Hi Kittycougar,
I had carpal tunnel after having my kids long before my cancer diagnosis and had both hands done in the space of a year. I found keeping my hands warm and exercise helped a lot even if it's uncomfortable. I had to have mine done as I lost feeling in two fingers on one hand. It took a while to get back the feeling but all ok now. The operation was under local anaesthetic too so done in a day surgery.
I've been on Letrozole since June. The worst side effects for me have been the joint pain, mainly my knees, and fatigue. How are you finding it?
Hope you hear soon from the hospital. x
Hi,thanks for your reply
I have trouble sleeping, still awake at 3 and 4am, and always so hot, even got a 4.5tog quilt but I'm still soo hot
I know what you mean. I'd rather put up with the side effects for now in the hope they improve over time. I used to wake up a few times every night before my diagnosis and it's carried on afterwards too. I tried the Sleepio app which is free through Macmillan and that's helped a lot. I still wake up but not for long and my sleep quality has improved too. And my little fan by the bed goes on and off all night too. Lol. My poor husband - luckily he sleeps through anything.
Take care. x
It's not good is it
I'll have to try that app
Did you have node clearance?
Yes you too

As long as we're still here, that's what's important. I had lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed but 3/11 tested positive for cancer unfortunately. I've been fortunate that the only swelling is just under my armpit and upper arm but the exercises I had from the lymphoedema clinic help a lot.
Hope you sleep better soon too. x
OK
That's good
Yes I do exercise s daily,my lymphodema started this January, over 18 months since I had therapeuticmammoplasty
Yes I totally agree still here!!
Aahh thank you
