I’m miserable and still exhausted. I can’t seem to find anything Posie and I’m 6 months post treatment.
I’m tired, I hurt, my muscles ache, and I’m having night terrors and have started sleep walking. All symptoms of anxiety which I don’t feel when awake.
im tired, I’m miserable, I’m frustrated, and I should be feeling better but I’m not.
what to do?
Hi L2707. Sorry to hear you're having a hard time with it all. It's tough, isn't it, as the days go past after what we've been through. I'm only three months post treatment but I can certainly relate to the muscle aches and tiredness. They get me down too - in fact, that's why I'm on here just now. However, next week, I'm starting on some gentle fitness things at my local sports centre and I'm hoping that this might help a bit with how I feel. Our local leisure centres do £1-per-class rates for people referred through Macmillan. And I'm just wondering - have you got a Maggie's Centre near you? I think they offer support for things like anxiety. I do hope things get better for you.
Hi there, so sorry to hear this, must be so difficult. Have you chatted to the lovely folks here at Macmillan? You can call them on 0800 808 0000 and I am sure they might have some ideas on how you could get some support. Best wishes
Hi.
I'm 7 months post surgery and radiotherapy and still get bad days but they are getting fewer. The forum has been brilliant for advice and I've been keeping a journal every day just to keep track and see how my side effects and feelings have changed since surgery. Podcasts by Dr Liz o'Riordan have helped too, especially as she has a Donna Ashworth poem at the end of each episode.
Also, I attended the Moving Forward course on Monday which really changed my outlook on my progress and was really helpful for advice too. Would you be able to go to a Macmillan group locally to you or Maggie's centre? I found it good to share my experiences with others face to face too.
Wishing you well. x
You’re not alone - I am 9 months post treatment and still struggling - finally decided to reach out to my local Maggie’s centre ! I should probably have done it sooner ! Thought I could manage by myself . Hang in there and reach out for help to McMillan or a Maggies centre .
