Has anyone tried the LPL hair removal treatment after taking tamoxifen? I had breast cancer, had the lump removed and radiotherapy followed. I was given letrozole first but that gave me such bad side effects which were affecting my mobility so I was switched to tamoxifen recently

I have noticed more hairs around my upper lip and chin and wanted to get rid of these. I'm not sure how successful it will be. Has anyone tried this with good results.

  • I have electrolysis , before and after breast cancer . That works on facia hair, I think it’s the only permanent method of hair removal .

  • I was already having laser hair removal before my diagnosis. Lip and chin. It’s very effective but upper lip does sting quite a bit! Message if you need any info x

  • Thanks. I've only had one treatment up to now and was told 4 or 5 treatments about 4 weeks apart should give an improvement.  It's just that a few of the hairs ate going white now so I'm not sure what will work on those

  • It won’t work on grey or white hairs - I still pull those out!

  • Thanks. I have been doing that. I'm aiming at getting rid of the darker ones before they too go grey :)

  • I’ve spoken to a few people in the same boat, and the key thing everyone’s doctors stressed was checking you’re fully healed from radiotherapy and that your oncologist is cool with heat‑based treatments.

Hormone meds like tamoxifen or letrozole don’t usually rule out laser, but timing matters. A place like laser clinic uxbridge can do a patch test and chat through any risks so you’re not going in blind.
