Just had a call from the hospital to ask if I can come in 2 days earlier to get my results. Panic has just washed over me again. Why would they move it, is it a bad sign? What happened at the appointment? What questions should I ask? Can you help.
Hi,
I noticed you haven't had a reply yet so wanted to say 'hi' and welcome to the group.
This is a scary time for you and I can empathise with your panic x If you can, try to think that at least you have less time to wait for results.
I have my fingers crossed for you that your results are good but, if they're not, please return to the forum. Amongst us all, there is comfort, support, and answers. but most importantly, I haven't felt so alone in my journey.
The waiting is almost unbearable and we all deal with this period as best we can, and whatever that looks like to you, then do it. I mostly had a couple of glasses of wine to take the edge off (although im not advocating alcohol!!)
When is your appointment? x
Hi emmak,
I know getting a phone call out of the blue like this must be very unsettling, but it maybe that they are just able to fit you in sooner - please don’t try and read to much into it, it will just stress you more.
As for the appointment itself, please take someone with you, a close friend or relative, but some one who is calm and can have a calming effect on you.
On the lead up to the appointment, do anything to occupy yourself, hobbies, interests listen to soothing music, anything to relax you.
I wish you loads of luck, please let us know how you get in. Big hugs.x
Thank you so much. At least I know now and can do what I am best at plan and take control. Might not be able to control much but know that keeping as much as possible will help. X
I know that getting a call like this is a bit scary, but try and take it as a positive as you won't be waiting so long. Do take someone with you, a second set of ears is useful and I’d suggest a notebook to jot down what they are saying. Also don't be afraid to ask them to repeat things or slow down so that you understand.
I've attached a link to a MacMillan booklet on ideas of questions. Hope that helps. Best wishes
