I’ve had surgery, 7 lots of chemo every 2 weeks, and 30 days of radiotherapy coming up.
anyone else had enough of the side effects (EC x4 and paciltaxol x4)
any tips for not going out of your mind and feeling totally bored and fed up and lonely, even with a good circuit around me
Hi,
Doesn't matter how much support you have, you can still feel a little lonely. I don't know about you but I feel like my life has stopped but the hubster and my kids haven't, rightly so it shouldn't do, but you can't help but feeling bored, fed up and lonely. I'm having my 3rd cycle of chemo next week, out of 6 and I am counting down the days. I try to keep myself busy when I have good days, I do alot of reading and at the mo I've got a big diamond painting I am doing. There is lots of laughter in my house, because I have lost my hair, me and the hubster decide who he is going on a date night with on a Saturday night, last weekend it was Harry Hill. I think this weekend I am going to be a minion!! It is all in the name of trying to keep me sane and keeps my mind on something else. Not sure if this helps you any, all the best with the rest of your treatment. X
Totally agree with you, it doesn’t matter how much support you have, no one is feeling what you are in the moment and it feels horrible. I def feel like my life’s on hold and I should be grateful we have treatment to shrink the cancer to prolong or loves but I have found it mentally challenging, and I cannot wait to start living life again.
my husband and kids are the same by the sound of it, it’s a good thing like you say.
the bald look took a while to get used to, but I have some wigs, and it’s temporary, I keep telling myself. . I love the idea you have on your date nights, your lucky husband having all these new dates hehe. Anything that makes you smile and laugh is priceless at the moment so keep that up.
Thanks for your message back and I’m pleased it’s not just me, but also you have things to keep you busy that you enjoy, I think it’s so important in tough times.
Also all the best to you for your treatment and back to normal life asap xx
