Cancer has been diagnosed and meeting surgeon on Wednesday what sort of questions should I ask
My husband is coming , I have jotted a couple of questions down . Absolutely terrified
I know it is all scary, but you will be in very good hands.
I think it’s normal to feel scared but I felt better after I had spoken with the surgeon as once you know the plan you feel more in control.
ditto above, when we went in for morning appointment, had no idea that i would also be having biopsies, dye, and more scans so allow some time, and here is excellent for any questions that you may feel is silly to ask, but actually isnt. the waiting in between is rubbish, also i know feeling positive is good, but everything they said i shouldnt have i did, so after masectomy was not expecting chemo as the ultra sound showed up lymph nodes pretty clear, but biopsy showed they wasnt. dont google too much and reach out on here for anything, macmillan nurses pretty much answer everything, my next task is to get some counselling organised. all the best xx
Total shock to me too, I was there for what I thought was a cyst , very shocked that it was cancer.
i know i was called back after a routine mammogram picked up something that i was told i wouldnt have, i thought ok just cut a bit out, but due to my size, and dsis spots, was straight to masectomy, good idea for hubby to be there, i didnt take so much in, thank god hubs did. you should see a breast cancer nurse after the surgeon has spoken to you. at least they have found it, and can jump on it, loads of helpful advise on here, just looked at a lovely link for various types of wigs, which is next job on the list. didnt want breast reconstruction from thigh or leg, (56 years old) aparantely my belly was too small, really!! and would have kept me in for 5 more days, ask anything on here, but do take a day off searching internet, can drive you mental. good luck with prognosis, keep in touch x
I was the same still in disbelief several months later. Xx hugs
