Grrrrrrrrrr!! When I was in chemo last year I felt like s….! I dosed on/off with my dog, on the day bed in our the office downstairs.  On several occasions my husband touched my foot, or shoulder to tell me he was going out, waking me up…you’d have thought WW3 was breaking out!! I was in a vile mood and the poor man looked crestfallen! My grumpiness lasted around 3 months on/off and I know he walked on eggshells!  I deeply regret it now BUT it wasn’t me as I’m sure it’s “not you either”!  You can only apologise and say v little..it’s a combination of drugs/feelings,/racing mind/lack of sleep/bewilderment etc etc.  do NOT worry too much, it will pass and the good thing is, you are aware of it! xxxx

  • Thank you!

I’m really touchy too. I know people are trying to help but sometimes feel like they just don’t get it which is totally understandable and is my problem!!

    hopefully will pass xxx thanks

  • Totally normal to feel like that. I was really grumpy with my family and told them I didn’t want any more visits from the ‘positivity police’ (referring to them)! They turned up anyway and (grudgingly) I found they made me feel better. Try not to lock yourself away and keep talking to people - even if you don’t feel like it! Try to talk to people that actually help and not people that make you feel worse! It WILL pass. Big hugs xxx

  • its the steroids, wantto beat everyone with stick, totally normal for now

  • This last round of chemo has left me nauseous and struggling to sleep!!

Doctor said steroids are probably to blame for lack of sleep x

  • alsothe halfway mark for me felt so long for the second half, but after the first lot, it is less daunting. when they change the meds its a new fear unlocked, like it feels back tothe beginning,

after my first freak out, and being fine after the first dose it was less overwhelming, despite the aches and pains, be sure to tellthem if u get them bad or nerve pains, they need to know.

second and third were less achy as i had meds to help. you will get there hugs

  • What time of day do you take the steroids? I was told to take them in morning and lunch (not to take them in the afternoon as they will keep me awake) x

  • First one terrible sickness!!  Never been soo sick ever. Second chemo they gave me anti sickness which helped and this last one (all EC) prolonged sickness for a week.

Couple of weeks and will change to Docitaxel!

Hoping might not be as bad??

I’ve finally closed social media accounts as fed up of people complaining about things like not having the right room on holiday or other trivia!!

  • I only have to have them for i think three days after chemo so try to space them out. dexamethasone i think?

  • yes ihad same, steroids three days, but you shoukd have antisickness meds for home too, take every morning if you get easily nauseated, best to stay ahead, because as they say, easier to keepat bay than chase away Fingers crossed

the next round shoudl be less nauseating and less ragey as they give you steroids before the infusion and benadryl so you feel sleepy relaxed and no steroids or antisickness meds needed after, at least I have found that. hugs
