I just had my first round on Monday and my legs are hurting so bad I can hardly walk
anyone else had this ?
how did you cope
I had Paclitaxel with Carboplatin last Thursday & my legs, hips & bum were achy & sore afterwards for most of the week but not so bad it hurt to walk. It sounds like quite a severe reaction so I would give your oncology team a call, they might at least prescribe something that can help. Hope it settles soon x
Hello....Judes ...Please get this checked if you are having difficulty walking. Are your feet ok or is the skin burning? This is another side effect which often goes with strong reactions to taxotere. Unfortunately I didn't want to make a fuss when I had similar problems and the reaction had done permanent damage by the time I did because it had become so severe. I didn't tell anyone I had had difficulties after the first dose and it was the second one that caused the damage. My third dose had to be cancelled because my feet had been too badly affected. It doesn't happen so often these days because the drug is given in smaller doses but it can still happen so phone someone this morning....oncology or BCN...and get it examined.
I hope all goes well and that actually things are a bit better today but don't delay in seeking further advice. If there is a problem, there are tablets you can take and the next dose can be reduced because the reaction is often cumulative. Take care.
