Hey, I wanted to start a thread about the experiences of being a single mum with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
When I was first diagnosed in mid-September my biggest fear was how I navigate all this as a single mum. From telling my kids on my own, to making sure I can still keep the roof over our head and I can care for my kids (12 and 9) how I want to as a mum through all of this.
There didn't seem to be much info, or an existing group of people in a similar situation. I am early on in my journey - 3 weeks post mastectomy - and I definitely don't have all the answers, but I'm hoping that by starting this thread it can be a place to go to for newly diagnosed single mums. A place to share their fears and ask their questions and for any other single mums in this community, who are further on in their breast cancer journey, to support and share advice, strategies or just be a listening ear of someone who understands.
Even if it just helps one new person to this forum. x
