Hi all
I’m currently on Abemaciclib , Prostap and Letrozole and also sertraline ( I’ve been on this one for about 5 years ) . I had a word with my oncologist about the antidepressants because I feel I need to increase them but she seems to think that I should change them to another type , Venlafaxine or Citalopram . Also she said over 90% of her patients on Abemaciclib are also on antidepressants!
I just wondered if any of you are taking antidepressants, or have swapped since starting treatment ?
TIA and best wishes to everyone

I finally decided to start taking them due to virtually zero other help with medical menopause symptoms. I was still feeling down, angry, weepy etc about 2 years into being on zoladex and exemestane. I just didn't feel like me, so went to the doctor and got fluoxetine. I only take the lowest dose, but it is enough to take the edge off and I feel at least more like myself in mood, even if everything else is the new me!
Hey
I’m glad fluoxetine had helped you , like you say there’s pretty much nothing else to help is there . Being plunged into the menopause is no joke
My onco is saying no to fluoxetine but I don’t know why , tbh I was too tired to ask !
Feeling more like yourself mentally is so important I think

I know you can't take Fluoxetine if you are on Tamoxifen, but it is OK with AIs & zoladex, which is what I'm on. So maybe it interferes with what you are on.
Yes I’m guessing it must do unless she just thought others would be better for me personally
