Has anyone been called for their Covid vaccination yet, on the basis that they are in a vulnerable group due to reduced immunity? Can anyone advise as to what point in your treatment cycle it is safe to have it? Thank you.
The autumn/winter booster program seems a bit more confusing this year. Our GP surgery is not doing Covid vaccinations.
I had a text from my gp surgery this morning to book my vaccination. You might find you'll be sent a link so you can book a vaccination at another location.
I have done chemo and radiotherapy and on abemaciclib. My understanding is that for me it is fine to have it anytime. My spring booster coincided with having chemo and I booked my vaccination on one of my better weeks. Eg 7 to 10 days after treatment. Hope that helps.
Speak to your oncologist before you book. I was able to book my winter COVID booster before I had a text. My spring COVID booster my oncologist made me wait until I had finished my chemo before I could have it
Hi, was told during my first treatment to accept invitations for Covid and flu as they were offered. I had both whilst having Docetaxil and Carboplatin. I am currently 10 cycles into Kadcyla and the nurse advised to go ahead with Covid jabs etc but don’t have them within 5 days either side of treatment. Hope this helps.
