Hi All
New to the group. I'm five days after lumpectomy on left breast. Feeling ok but. Going to consultant on Friday to get results of the lumpectomy and removal of 2 lymph nodes. Feeling a bit anxious and out of controlnto be honest. have lots of family support who are probably as shell shocked as me. Thought breast cancer was something that happened other people and not me.
Hello lyn1
Welcome to the group none of us wanted to join. You are at one of the most difficult stages - the waiting. I quite understand what you mean about lack of control. Good that you only have a couple more days to go till Friday. Hopefully all the histology results will be back and then you will know more about your squater. What we know, we can process and come to terms with and deal with. Whatever it turns out to be, know that nowadays there are a myriad of successful treatment regimens for breast cancers. Your team will be able to tailor any treatment to optimally tackle whatever it is. I expect you will feel a little more in control when there is a treatment plan and timeframes.
Good that you have lots of support from family. I found that is what pulled me through.
Use this forum to let of steam and to ask questions. There are always folk around who will have gone through whatever stage before you and who will be happy to share experiences and advice.
Wishing you all the best

Hi Lynn had my node removal and wire guided lumpectomy today. I totally relate to how you are feeling. I think we all react differently and it’s good that your family are supporting you. My husband and my adult daughter find it difficult to talk about my diagnosis. My two adult sons are brilliant. The hospital staff have been brilliant at every step.
For any one having wire guided surgery I had 3 wires put in, it wasn’t the best hour but totally doable. Conquering my own fears was half the battle.
I hope your appointment goes well on Friday and the results are what you want to hear. Having read so many people’s stories on here I am really grateful for my own prognosis and am trying to change my mindset. This was sent to me and really helps me ground myself.
hugs to you x
