I finished active treatment last October but since radiotherapy have had rib pain at night when I lay on my side. I mentioned it at my review meeting with the breast nurse and she got my consultant to arrange a CT scan. I had the scan 2 weeks ago and have a letter to attend the consultant's clinic. I'm now really worried as if it was all OK surely they would tell me over the phone? Has anyone else been asked to go in to receive good news?
Hope this cheers you up,i to was asked to go back and was greeted with a fist bump from a smiling consultant, he was as happy as me..kind regards
In my experience the appointments are set up when the scans are requested, so before results are known. I don’t think you can read anything into it. All the best.
My ribs are tender and sore too , I finished RT in January
I have always had to go in after scan to get results , the appointments are usually booked before results are back so like others have said , I wouldn’t read anything into it
I know how nerve racking it is though , I wish you all the best
xx
I suffer with terrible scanxiety. I always have to attend appointments good or bad news to prevent people overthinking if they have to attend an appointment.
These unknowns are so horrible and we can't know the outcome of the consultations for results unfortunately. It seems a luck of the drawer thing when it comes down to it, some seem to see people face to face whatever, some write and my bc nurse told me they automatically give you the results face to face, so v confusing advice given there. I was called in first to say everything fine on one side, other side not back yet but not anticipating a problem, so they did call me in for positive news. Then I got a call to say come in because other side in fact had tiny amount found, v unexpectedly after 22 years!!! Shock for all of us as I'd only gone in to have very old implants removed!! But it had been removed with the tissue surrounding the implants. So problem had already been sorted. V confusing situation as they were all smiling saying you're fine, but I'm not feeling fine, I'm trying to come to terms with a v unexpected result. Life sure throws some curve balls. But I hope that gives you some hope ...22 years with no probs. And now only 1% chance of it returning. But my head still dealing with the shock of the very unexpected result. Good luck. ️
