Struggle to sleep

Since my diagnosis of BC I’ve struggled to sleep and when I do I’m having nightmare. I’m exhausted during the day and needing to take a nap when I’m becoming tired. I’ve tried Nytol which worked for 1 night only and my sleep Pattern is now worse than ever  getting 3 hours a night if I’m lucky. I can drop off ok but wake up just a few hours later when I just have so many thoughts I cannot go back to sleep. Any tips to help? I’ve tried relaxation and essential oils plus nytol with no success

  • I tried acupuncture, which was a help, but after my initial 6 week course, I did find I needed top ups every month. I found that the BC treatment left me very anxious and with big mood swings, and insomnia. Likely all because of the sudden menopause and continued hormone therapy. I'm now on a low-dose anti-depressant and it has been brilliant. I sleep OK now, anxiety is back to a normal level and crazy mood swings are gone.

  • I am exactly the same. I struggle to get off to sleep as my mind goes into overdrive. I sleep for a couple of hours then wake up.Luckily I don’t work, rest in the afternoon. Stopped drinking coffee after midday, but it seems that this is the new normal for me.

going to hypnotherapy later this month so hopefully that will help.
