Hi I’m after some advice I finished radio therapy last October and have been told I’m cancer free (fingers crossed it stays that way) I would like my radio therapy black dots removed especially the one between my two breasts as very visible.  Has anyone had there ones removed?  Did you have to pay? I’m in Essex does anyone know of any places in Essex where they remove them for free, I googled it and only saw places in Kent and Buckinghamshire.  Thanks

  • Hi Cockerpoomummy welcome to the forum and good oi you getting through the other side of treatment and we all do that with the fingers crossed so you are not alone in that.

As to the tattoos ,I was told they are permanent so I can imagine that only a tattooist would be able to remove these, but not sure if you go down that path. I cant see that anyone would remove these for free. I think if you wanted them removed that much then you would likely  have to pay someone to do that.. Mine is only visible to me. xx

  • Any beauty clinic that offers laser services could do it, but I think you would probably have to pay. I would imagine the last place you would want to go is a tattooist. I only have 2.marks. The one on my side is so slight I can’t see it without really hunting, but the one between my boobs is more obvious. It’s deep in my cleavage so can’t be seen but I hate it when I catch sight of it when lying on my back. With metastatic breast cancer, it’s perhaps low down my worry list, but if/when I reach the other side of treatment, I will go get it removed

  • Daughter is 10 years plus in remission from a blood cancer and regards her tiny tattoo and Hickman line scars as war wounds, that she made it in spite of failing so many lines of treatment. I think she’s proud of them in a way.

  • I feel that way about my WLE scar, the scar where my port incision was made, and my earlier hip replacement scar. But I hate tattoos.
