Hi all, I have my first year check up with my consultant breast surgeon tomorrow, do they just do a mammogram?
Hi Tilly,
I had my first year check up in April. It was just a Mammogram and the opportunity to voice any concerns.
It took a while to get my results, but they do say if there is anything of concern they will call you within 2 weeks, otherwise the results will be sent by post.
Thankfully everything was clear.
Wishing you all the best.

Hi Tilly
I'm 6 years post diagnosis and have just had another all clear mammogram, but also a hint when you do have your annual mammogram and get your letter in the post - if it's thin, don't panic about opening the envelope 'cause it's good news! It will be just one slip of paper in the envelope saying that your mammogram was clear
I didn't see my breast surgeon / oncologist after the radiotherapy I had, so if it's just your annual check up then it's usually just the normal mammogram and you generally don't see the surgeon. But if you've got a specific appointment to see your breast surgeon, then it might not be a mammogram.
Best wishes,
Lesley
