Hi everyone
I wonder if anyone can recommend a breast form that youve found better that the softies ?
I had my mastectomy 7 months ago and feel I want to get something more than the softies I was given post surgery
I’m trying to do more exercise so any advice on sports bras with breast forms would be appreciated too
xx
No I haven’t had anything . I have private treatment so I’m guessing I don’t get it
Ill call the BCN
thank you xx
You allowed one free one .I don't know how often under NHS .you should be fine entitled to that .the BCN should know x
Ah ok , that’s fab , thanks for this
I’ll definitely check xx
Hi Dollydimple,
My softie seems to have a mind of it’s own, at times, so like you I’m ready to look into the heavier gel ones & some decent bras. I have private treatment too so will be interested to read what you find out.
Happy hunting,
xx
Hi
Yes mine too , I have one boob that hangs low and the other can now almost work it’s way up to my neck
I’ll let you know what the nurse says xx
called my BCN and she’s given me the name of a place that does prosthetics , she said my insurance company might pay for it otherwise I’d have to self fund . I called my insurance company and they will indeed pay for it which is great so I just need to make an appointment now to get a new boob xx
Hi,
I started off with a softie and then got a prosthesis from the NHS. It was fine but I felt it heavy and a bit uncomfortable so I started looking around. Online companies like Nicola Jane and Amoena sell a variety of breast forms and were willing to send them back and forward until I was happy with the size. I find the Amoena Valletta vest tops are great especially in the summer and would be ok for exercise . Both have fitting centres in the south of England. Then I found a great one made of soft plastic which is so very comfortable especially in hot weather and very suitable for swimsuits. For the life of me I can’t remember the name and if I go look it up I will lose this post so will add it later. It’s from Cornwall. Then there are the knitted knockers which lovely ladies volunteer to knit and you can adjust the stuffing inside. Think they do ones suitable for swimming too .
So do hope you find something comfortable as now I have it’s great and looks good too.

Hi Jojodot
Thanks so much for all the info , I’ll check it all out . I’m glad you’ve found something comfy that looks good too
I do actually have one of the knitted knockers , the volunteers are just fantastic aren’t they
