Hi folks. I got diagnosed yesterday, early stage, grade 2, an invasive ductal carcinoma. Got to have gene testing before finding out a treatment plan as I’m 38…this all feels so surreal. Got to wait a week until my appointment, hate that it’s in me doing it’s thing, I just want it out :(

  • Hi Clarebear85

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. That’s one of the worst things about being diagnosed the waiting for results and for your treatment plan. However once your treatment plan is in place things should start to feel better.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment and with your gene test.

    Best wishes

Sorry to hear that you are having to join this forum due to diagnosis.  So frustrating and as you say, surreal.  We are with you ever step of the way ...I really wish uouan easy journey through this xx

  • Hi. The waiting is awful. You imagine the worst and start planning for it! I was in your shoes 3 months ago but grade 3. I'm now post lumpectomy and today finished radiotherapy. The diagnosis changes your life and perspective. Be kind to yourself xx

  • Hi - I was diagnosed on Tuesday - same as you grade 2. Got an mri on Monday and then got to wait a week for my next appointment to discuss a treatment plan - feel like I’m in limbo. Keep your chin up and keep busy as that’s helped me get through the days. Best of luck with your journey x

  • Hi guys, I am the same and was diagnosed last week ( already lost track of which day), grade 2 invasive ductal. I was told it was a cyst, then at the ultrasound they did biopsies and were preparing me for cancer the following week. I am lucky as have a plan in place and had the ' pintuition' thing on Friday. I am now provisionally booked for June 27th, seems a little wait, but I am thankful that things seem to be moving fast. Have any of you had breathing difficulty and pressure around the thyroid area or stinging muscles....I've had this for a while and wondered if it was connected? I must say how lovely that everyone is so kind and supportive, I know this is going to help me on those tough days.

  • Hi Dungarees girl

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I suggest that you get on to your BCN or GP about the breathing difficulties and the pressure around the thyroid area. While it may be nothing it’s best to get these things checked out.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.

  • Hi Clarebear85,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad that you have more answers now. All the waiting is definitely pants & you’re spot on, totally surreal.
Due to anomalies thrown up on my ct scan, it took 6 weeks & two different bone scans before my team could commit to the best plan & then it all happened very quickly. I couldn’t stop thinking things would just be escalating as the weeks went on, but they reassured me that things would not be getting worse & that they needed to be sure so they got the order & type of treatment right.
As everyone of the lovely ladies on here say, the waiting is really hard but you’re on the right track now. Good luck with the next stage.

    xx

  • Hi lovelies, Thank you for responding to me, it's good to be able to talk. I am finding that one of the hardest things for everyone is the waiting. I think I've been pretty lucky so far as despite going to my GP as was stressed due to other things like divorce amongst things...well I thought I'd check out this slightly lumpy area in my right breast. Well in all honesty I thought it was nothing and was unsure if I should mention it. Well the Dr didn't seem concerned, but 7 day later I had an appointment at the breast clinic. The Dr again examined me and said that she thought I would need a mammogram and ultrasound then would go home. The next thing I knew was that they were sitting me down and telling me they were worried about what they found...but I was lucky as I was then given an appointment for about 5 days later ( all about blurry) where they talked through what they would do and give me radiotherapy and hormone therapy....my provisional op is on 27th June as a waiting list...but seems pretty quick. I just hope those of you are waiting hear soon....I have had things to wait for previously and it really is tough.

Here if you need to talk

  • Hi Clarebear and joules, just was wondering how you were doing? Hope you're managing to find ways to keep your mind off of things whilst waiting!

Lovely to hear your good news Lou...all these things help us through these tough times.

    Keep being kind to yourselves

    X
