So changed to Doxetacel and I’ve had quite a few side effects including a rash on -hem hem- areas. Macmillan advised that I should make an appointment with my GP. So I call the GP and they’ve ‘unregistered’ me cause I’m not in the area. I haven’t changed houses so I’m assuming the areas changed or something. I’ve known this a while but they actually told me when I first got my results that it’s ok, I don’t need to trouble with getting another GP, they’ll help and I can find a new GP after the treatment. Jolly good surprise. Just needed to vent.
Don’t quite understand how ‘area’ has changed? However my husband tried to make an appointment with his GP and as he hadn’t been for years they couldn’t even find him on computer! Making a GP app is a joke atm..if the rash is causing you issues then of course you need some treatment but I’m ion letrozole and had have a rash, strangely only on back of neck and arms. GP rang me to say use E45 but ended up going back for Betnovate. I really hope you get it sorted or find a new GP x
I’ve no idea how the area has changed tbh. I’ve been with this GP for 6 years. If they were outside my area they shouldn’t have registered me in the first place? That said appointments are indeed a joke. When I found the lump I was trying for two weeks to get through to the GP -not to get an appointment just to get them on the phone to book one- and ended up going to a private GP that send me for the two week referral. Hope you get better soon too :) Rashes are extremely annoying. They are probably not ‘serious’ but the itching is driving me insane.
they did this in our London area, was like, so from this side of the road u go here, other side there. just randomly.
sorry they have done this, bad enough dealing with GPs, and why cant you just stay there?
does your gp have an app? thankfully mine changed and i could just use that rather than play the phone lotto.
Hope you get results and see someone soon
My GP does have DrIQ but every time I have tried to use it to book a consultation I can’t. They are basically not available ‘due to demands exceeding our daily capacity some of our consultations may not be available’ That means ALL of them have not been available since Christmas. I realised today that I have to try and book one at 7am cause they run out fast. It’s just weird. I had no idea I have to queue up on the app first thing in the morning.
Registered with my partners GP today. High hopes.
This is crazy - if you are registered there - surely they can't 'just' unregister you without a valid reason.... area doesn't seem to be valid when you consider from what I think is correct.....
Say you live in Bristol and work in London or are staying in London for 'x' amount of time - then you can register at another Doctors surgery in addition to your doctors in Bristol - it's worth a google and like Grogg says complaining.
Thanks everyone :) Not sure I care to complain right now -too much stress in my life anyway- but I will send the GP an email explaining that unless you know the ‘get on the app at 7am’ it’s impossible to get an appointment.
Djct it’s certainly better than playing dial lotto That’s a funny term but quite accurate. The issue is it wasn’t really clear to me and I was trying to use the app at 10am or so. But really the system is a bit of a mess. Feels like an online or phone wrestling match to get to see your GP.
Hey! Sorry for the delay and thanks for asking. I did get what I needed by asking the oncologist for a prescription, getting the meds from the hospital pharmacy and I was told to use the prescription to order more if I need from the GP. I had rashes which the nurse had said were not chemo related, but when I brought it up with the oncologist he said they’re a side effect of the Doxetacel and wrote a prescription for a cream.
Also my new GP seems to be the same as the old one:
- At 7:05 all appointments on DrIQ are booked. So there’s a 5m window -maybe- where you can get an appointment.
- Calling at 08:00 gets me ‘Over 30 in the queue’
I am getting creative and hoping I can get what I need. I’m assuming the NHS is aware of this mess and there’s no point complaining… They’re understaffed and overworked. Sigh.
