Hi I had my surgery March last year had a lumpectomy after chemo then had radiotherapy now all these months on I keep getting a shooting pain/dull ache round my scar tissue has anyone else experienced anything like this please

  • Hi

I had a similar treatment plan to you although I started with a lumpectomy and then had chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Occasionally my scar feels a little uncomfortable too.

  • Hi Longlegs

I had the same treatment as you 2yrs ago last March.

I still have some pain and discomfort now and again around my scar area.

After everything we have been through I think we notice ever little twinge.

  • I am thanks just think I’m over thinking as everyone says is expected after what we’ve been through xx

  • Thank you yes mine started in the scar tissue from we’re they took my lymph nodes think I may be to blame don’t always do the exercises I’m suppose to do after surgery x. Yes totally agree I think I’m over thinking x take care x

  • I'm over two years post lumpectomy and more than that for chemo. I still get soreness in my affected breast and arm, especially if I use my arm, chest or back muscles a lot. I think lingering pain is quite common

I’m 1yr after mastectomy and 6 months post RT and the discomfort is not great. Tight under arm, so plenty of gentle stretching exercises, ribs are sore, slightly raised and painful to touch and breast area feels hard like I’ve got bigger muscles! First annual mammogram check stated all good so I’m just ploughing on. Let’s face it, the treatments are very invasive, brutal and tough and will of course, have some longer lasting effects, sadly. I wish you well xx

  • Hi Longlegs,

I’m 10 months post mastectomy and five months post radiotherapy- had chemo for six months first.

I’m still finding underarm tight, scar is still in folds and only wear a bra when I have to but hey grateful for the treatment received and care was given.

    Best wishes xx
