Hi all!

I’m new here, my mum has had surgery to remove x2 small grade 2 invasive lobular tumours. The node biopsies showed a small area of disease, so she’s going to have radiotherapy to her breast and armpit plus hormone therapy.

would love to hear from anyone who has been through something similar to know there’s light at the end of the tunnel?

thank you!

  • Hello I too had a grade two invasive lobular tumour measuring 26mm. Had 15 sessions of radiotherapy plus the n now on Tamoxifen.  I’m now in my 5th year and feeling fine.
I’m sure your Mum will be absolutely fine caught early there is a very good success rate.

  • Hi, I had a grade 2, 21mm invasive lobular tumour removed last October, followed by 10 radiotherapy sessions and am now on tamoxifen for 5 years and then to go onto Letrozole for 5 years following that. I am back swimming and whilst still a little sore it isn’t stopping me getting on with everyday life.

I wish your mum all the best.

  • Hi

I had grade 2 invasive lobular cancer had 3 lymph nodes removed 1 was cancerous, I had mastectomy, 6 months of chemo, 15 rounds of radiotherapy, I am now on my 2nd year of letrozole 3 more to go. I’ve just had my good boob reduced and what they call a dog ear flattened. I am back at work and leading my new normal life.

  • Hi, I have just had reconstructive surgery from grade 1 lobular cancer and 2 lymph nodes showing cancer cells. I have to have the remainder removed and then chemo. Any advise about what to expect with chemo I would be grateful. Thanks

  • Hi boobalicious

chemo is doable you will get lots of support from the chemo nurses remember don’t suffer if you have any issues tell the nurses and they will give you something. Also if you have any questions this site is a gem there is always somebody able to offer advice and support. Take it a day at a time you be surprised how quickly it goes by and be kind to yourself and let others help you.

    take care

  • Hiya,

I had my dx in November 2016 so about 6 1/2 years ago. I had 14 out of 18 lymph nodes affected and a 53mm lobular tumour. Nearly coming up to 6 years on letrozole and I am doing well :)
