I am in my fifth year after being diagnosed with an invasive 26mm lobular stage 2 tumour. I had oncoplastic surgery with nipple re-positioned. I now have lymphoma in my breast making it much larger than my other breast. It is very uncomfortable. I know people who had a lobular tumour smaller than mine and had a mastectomy. Why wasn’t I? It would have been better than carrying a fluid full breast around. I have had massage and been taught to do it myself but it doesn’t work.
Hi Polly268 welcome to the forum and I am so sorry to hear about what is happening for you. I take it you mean lymphoedema and not lymphoma as they are two very different things. My tumour which was Lobular but was smaller than yours and I had a Lumpectomy, too have Lymphoedema in my breast but as I understand it it is more to so with the removal of Lymph Nodes which causes this to happen.
The massages do need to be done routinely and it can take many months to subside. Do you have access to a Lymphoedema service through the breast clinic in your area as maybe they could refer you to this as i was. Spending time bra-less was recomemended for me and what a relief it is to be free for a while, have you tried that?
