Hi
I meant to ask you all on my previous post what you can suggest for after surgery as well.
Obviously provided all margins are ok and surgery goes well I will need radiotherapy further down the line but just want to start to prepare now rather than leave it till last min.
As per prev post I am having bilateral surgery and am currently waiting on a rescheduled surgery date.
Thank you
Lynn xx
Hi LynnS
After surgery don't do any heavy lifting for at least six weeks to give yourself time to recover. Rest when you need to. Have a body lotion on hand to keep the area moist after each radiotherapy session. Drink plenty of fluids as well.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes

You'll be given a sheet with exercises to do. Make sure you do them. If you can only do a little bit, do the litttle bit. Don't put it off.
When they discharge you, make sure you've checked the discharge letter and that it's accurate - mine wasn't.
I was lucky in that I felt fine and had no pain at all - discomfort, yes, but not pain. So on a couple of occasions I found myself doing stuff I probably shouldn't have done, and afterwards I did have twinges. They didn't matter; it was the worry that I might've done myself some damage. So don't think you're an invalid, but do think twice before mowing the lawn or whatever.
You'l be fine!
