I've been for my contrast mammogram today and I had microbubble today as well to check cancer is not in my lymph nodes and as far as i know it isnt I'm back on the 23rd for results. Then not sure what the next step is. They said I will start treatment in April

  • Hello Bettyboop43. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in November. Since then I had 2 wide incision lumpectomy and just had my first cycle of chemo. My oncotype score was 24 which puts me at medium risk of the cancer coming back or spreading so my treatment will be 8 rounds of chemo of two different drugs, radiotherapy then endocrine treatment in tablet form.

  • Hi Scattymiss,

I was diagnosed with invasive ducal carcinoma stage 1, grade 1, 18 millimetres in size 15 months ago. No lymph node involved. I had a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy and endocrine therapy for 5 years. Unfortunately I found it really effected me negatively therefore agreed as low risk to stop the endocrine therapy with advice from consultant. Not an easy decision and has changed my views on life greatly. I hope all goes well and good luck with the treatment.
My surgeon was very good and tbh you cannot even see I have had surgery now. Oh by the way I’m 59 xx

  • Hello - I have the same - Grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma. No spread. Had lumpectomy and sentinel node removal on the 31st Jan. I am starting chemo tomorrow which will be followed by another op as I didn't clear margins. Then radiotherapy and drugs. I am 41.

Next steps will depend on grade/type (hormone receptors) HER2 status. Once they have all the results the MDT will start to build your plan. The waiting is the worst part :( sending you hugs xx

  • Hi mine is grade 3 not aggressive but fast growing hopefully will know more on the 23rd March
