Hello, I had a lumpectomy & sentinel lymph node biopsy right breast last December. I had a second op beginning of January to clear margins.
I have been experiencing pain under my left arm for a couple of weeks now. I’m thinking the worse, but hoping that it’s over compensating for the lack of use in my right arm. Or maybe that I’m sleeping awkwardly, as I do tend to lie on my left side a lot.
I cannot find any lumps either in my left breast or under my armpit. But I didn’t have any lumps in my right breast when I was diagnosed
Hi Valleyside welcome to the forum. That is very early days since your last lot of surgery and you will still be healing and I suspect that that is what you are feeling with the pain. However, whatever you do please keep doing those exercises as this will loosen things up and keep things from tightening which they can do after the surgery.
If however you are concerned as this is affecting the other arm it would be sensible for you to see the GP and have this checked out as it could be as a result of all the things that you have said but best to be certain.
Thank you Gail for your helpful reply.
I have been doing the exercises, but being honest sometimes I forget. I know how important they are to aid recovery. I have just been put on Letrozole by my Oncologist, have you any experience of this?
I’m concerned about the stuff I have read about it and the side effects.

HI Valleyside everyone is different when they go on Letrozole and different brands play a big part on the level of symptpms and if you have a look through the threads or type in Letrozole it will take you to the thread. The biggest side effect that folks experience is bony pain and on occasions vaginal dryness due to the level of Oestrogen being cut off with them.
Give it a try and see how you get on as everyone doesnt have issues with it. There are other drugs in the same category as Letrozole that you can be changed to if it doesnt fully suit you .
