Hi Started tamoxifen 12 months ago. Started spotting about 2 weeks ago which had been getting gradually worse. GP has done the 2 week referral to the post menopausal bleeding clinic but seemed to say this could be cancer caused by spread of my original breast cancer. Looking to hear from anyone who is having or has had bleeding with tamoxifen. Thanks
Hi Norwich47 , sorry you’re having this problem, good it’s being investigated but horrible to be on that waiting train again. I’m on Anastrozole but have a friend who’s on tamoxifen. She had bleeding and like you was referred, and naturally feared the worst. It was all fine in the end, she had it all investigated and biopsies taken. After tortuous waiting she was told that the tissue was normal and it was just ‘one of those things’. Obviously you need to have this all checked but just wanted to tell you a story which turned out fine. Love and hugs, HFxx
Hi, I swapped from Letrozole after 3 years to tamoxifen, (to help my pre-existing osteoporosis) and when I started both drugs I had some spotting. I was lucky as it stopped but I agree you are doing the right thing in getting checked out (by the way I am now 77, so most likely much much older than you!)
hope all is totally ok.
Hugs xxx
Moomy
