Diagnosed when came out of lockdown & required double mastectomy. Post surgery recovery took well over 6 months due to allergic reactions to glue or other chemicals used. & am now on daily anithistamins. Chose not to go for reconstruction on this basis. Too uncomfortable to wear a bra due to scars so took the plunge & am going flat.
Clothing issue is minor in comparison to diagnosis but it's now taking its toll as I'm avoiding socialising unless its an outdoor walk/cover up. I want to look attractive but high necks cause me to dramatically overheat (Letrozole effect) & because I have no bust , ordinary v-neck dresses/tops fall way too low! I've been trying to find modesty panels but they seem to need to clip onto a bra or have a huge expanse of nylon lace . All I want is a simple high rise plain vest with spagetti straps that I can wear with Seasalt, East etc style clothes I've tried M&S camisoles but have to adjust straps so high they cut into my armpits. Does anyone know of any I can buy on line etc? I'm finding I'm avoiding socialising as I constantly live in baggy utility type tops.
Hi. I’ve had a double mastectomy. I’m very tall, so don’t usually have problems wit( low cut things, but have taken some tips from the website ‘Flat Friends’. If you scroll down the front page, there is a good fashion tips section. There is a brand called ‘Maria Angel’ on Amazon that has some quite high modesty vests with thin straps as you say. Xx
Thank you, I'm going there today so will check them out..
