Hi there!

I had a lump since November 2022 in my left breast it didn't hurt or bother me but in January since i went to see my doctor after she touch the lump and referred me to a breast specialist i start with lots of pain, weakness in my whole body and swollen in my breast

( no rush no change of color ) just swollen some itching and of course a lump close to my armpit . I been with antibiotics for 2 weeks now I feel just a little better and the swollen got better but I still have the Lump and i have lots of pain even close to my heart that's normal ? Because I'm worry that now i have a problem with my heart but i don't know if is actually the breast infection that it's giving me those pains close to my heart.

What will be the next step if my infection doesn't get better? the doctor told me last time that doesn't look like cancer that I have a bacterial breast infection and i only have 2 ultrasound and the last visit he told me to come back in a month but with out any treatment and not feeling better i think i need to see him sooner. But now that i went through antibiotics which will be the next step?

Please someone can help me ?

  • Hello Luna sorry you have been in such pain.  I’m not sure how anyone can diagnose a breast infection.  If you have a lump I would have thought you would need a scan to see what’s going on.  Not an ultrasound.  Can you ask your gp to refer you for a scan so that you can be reassured there is nothing untoward.  I do hope everything will be ok.  Best wishes xxxJ

  • Thank you so much for your reply.

I don't know how the doctor will say is a bacterial infection just with an ultrasound i agree  and  yes i feel a little better after the antibiotics but i still have a lump and lots of pain. I will ask my doctor for a MRI i don't know really why they wait you wait to long .
