Hello anyone

I was diagnosed with her2 positive cancer last August and have had quite a journey . I only managed 2 rounds out of 5 of chemo so I take letrezole and have Herceptin infusion every three weeks . I am on my 8 th round !  Had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy.
please can anyone tell me if breast cancer comes back as her2  is so aggressive . ? It is such a worry as I only had 2 rounds of chemo but have had all the above .
good luck to anyone reading this

  • Hi   my story is on profile just click on my name to read .

I was diagnosed in 2019 and just finished treatment . I was told that Herceptin reduces the risk of recurrence and I do know of others who have not had recurrence. Without wishing to upset anyone who has had a secondary diagnosis it is something that can happen wether you are her2 or not .

I think most of us live with the thoughts of has it returned with any ache or pain especially near mammograms but the trick has to be not to dwell on these thoughts .

Please try to think positive ,I know it’s hard at times . Maybe give the macmillan line a call for reassurance or some counselling to help you to come to terms with the shock of diagnosis and treatment

    take care x

For me, I don’t read ANYTHING and chose to live in ignorant bliss!  I’m Stage 3 and used to worry and consistently feel the remaining breast but my oncologist said a long time ago, the healthier you are, the more exercise you get, the better able your body to cope with the tough treatment. Thoughts in the mind are difficult to shift but I have a lovely friend who has terminal lung cancer and she has out lived doctors expectations, she tells me she’s trained her mind not to think too long about her situation. She is on the go the whole time! She walks 1,5hrs a day, does ballet, singing, is involved in various activity groups and is nearly 80!  Such an inspiration! keep busy is her motto! I’ve probably gone off track here but…I wish you all the very best and Happy Easter! XxX
