  • Hi Hers88, I’m so sorry for your situation, sometimes it’s worse when it’s your loved ones who are affected, particularly your child! Please take heart and understand that BC is very curable these days. I have a different type to your daughter, I’m much older too, but there are many young women on this forum who have a similar diagnosis and will be happy to offer encouragement and answer any questions you may have. Wishing you and your daughter all the very best; remember there is a lot of research and every reason to stay positive, as difficult as that seems right now. Don’t Google or research, just listen to the specialists and, of course, your daughter- I’m sure you’ll be a huge support to her during this time which has every chance of passing with a good outcome. All the best of luck to you both xxxxx

  • Hello Hers88

Welcome to the group.  There is a young girl on here who has recently been diagnosed.  She is only 22.  Perhaps your daughter would like to communicate with her!  I can find her if you like!  Best wishes, xxx J

  • Hi mazz , thank you for your reply and kind words, all the best to you xxx

  • Hi there,

I have just been diagnosed with grade 3 her2 positive bc and i am 33. Happy to connect. I am going for chemo, targeted therapy and surgery

  • Hello, this is a bit of a late reply. I was a little bit older than your daughter (42) when diagnosed. I was also grade 3, Her positive and oestrogen positive, multiple tumours in the breast and lymph node positive. I had chemo, mastectomy and radiotherapy and now I’m on tamoxifen. The treatment was very successful, despite worrying initial diagnosis. No evidence of disease was found when they examined the tissue from my mastectomy. I finished treatment a year ago and have been able to continue with my life well. I’m telling you this to give you hope, my poor mum was worried sick for me. Wishing your daughter well x
