Invasive lobular breast cancer

I think it's just really difficult to know if something could have been prevented or whether something could have been different and I think it's really a question for your consultant. Hello Moo Moo Max. I too was diagnosed with invasive lobular cancer grade 2.  My original mammogram was 11 months late due to Covid.  Scans showed no met spread.  Eventually had mastectomy with implant, but also showed up in lymph nodes.  Had to go back for full lymph node excision which showed 7 of 14 cancerous.  Subsequently had chemo then radiotherapy.  Currently recovering from surgery again.  Bilateral.  Implant damaged by radiotherapy so removed and replaced.  I’m sharing with you as we can never know what might or could have been.  They were fairly certain my lymph nodes were ok SCAN showed all ok.  Mine was already undetected in the lymph nodes.  Having said all of this I do think you should ask why you had to wait 11 months for the lumpectomy and get some reassurance from your consultant.  Wise words from Irishgirl16 …..
