Hi had mamoplasty and auxiliary node removal on Friday, but the pain in my arm is excruciating it’s like a burning sensation or electric shock is this normal? The drain seems to be draining I’ve got the district nurse coming today. I was told I can start to wear my compression bra from today so hoping that may help any advice would be great thank you
I am really sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I had similar following my mastectomy & lymph node removal. It has eased but still an issue 8 months later. I belive it can take a long time to resolve.
Do mention to the DN or BCN just in case there is something that needs to be adjusted etc. Hopefully you have some strong pain relief to take
Best wishes x
Sorry to hear you have such pain. I had similar when I had bc the first time 13 years ago. The cause seemed to be the drain touching a nerve. I described the pain as like having something sharp dragged down my arm. I spoke to the surgeon and we found a way to manage it, but I’m not sure whether the cause is the same for you.so it’s definitely worth talking to the BCP as they can usually help.
