Hi
I've been called for my 3 yearly cervical screening test next week and although I am now 2 years post menopause I recently started letrizole a few months ago which is reducing my hormone levels due to estrogen receptive breast cancer.
I am a bit worried about how painful it may be although I know it's only 5 minutes I have previously had painful smear tests before I went through menopause and started on letrizole and amebliclib
Any advice or anyone else been for one while on this medication.
Thank you
Hi FE1 I had a smear test about 3 months after starting Letrozole and Abemaciclib. I explained this to the nurse beforehand and she was very gentle. It was momentarily uncomfortable - in the same way as smear tests have always been for me - but not hideous. The nurse was also very quick!
I had already started using Yes moisturiser which you apply every 3 days - made sure I used it 3 days before the smear (not on the day) so maybe this helped.
Hope it goes ok xx
