Hi, I am exploring Transcendental Mediation as an option and wondering if anyone has experience with TM and found it helpful with anxiety / treatment side-fx?
Is it quite different from normal meditation that you can access readily foc? Or is it worth investing on a TM course with an approved instructor as it is a deeper level of intensity providing help to decrease anxiety and promote wellness? I'd appreciate some input as I have no experience with TM. #Curious ŕ¸…^•ﻌ•^ฅ Thanks, Kerry

  • Hi in my experience, TM was mostly just chanting meditation and very expensive. If you want to take chanting as your route to achieving peace and well being I would check out 'nam myoho renge kyo' - it's helped people through some really dark times ( a celebrity example is Tina Turner). I personally find simple 2:1 conscious breathing. works best for me ( In out in out consciously relaxing on out breaths, followed by one in breath where you imagine drawing in energy from the universe through the top of your head, and a normal out breath) gradually your breathing becomes less obvious as you relax and if you focus on breathing through your nose there's no room for thoughts of any kind only observation. This is working for me and I don't know what I would do without it - I would certainly recommend giving it a try if you don't fancy chanting.

  • Hi All

It's good to find some method to relax into. I am doing some chanting meditation with Kyle Gray. I find it hard to focus, have to just make myself do it. It's all online, he has a well set up system. I have done self Reiki, I do it occasionally. Some good meditation discs Glenn Harrold is one I like, I have seen them on Amazon.

I find it good to use if I get stressed. Felt quite depressed the other day, just hit me. Ok the next day. Just trying to go with the flow. I do welcome my Angels and spirit guide in, I have studied Angels and crystals with Kyle. He became a medium at 15 yrs. Chrissie Astell I have done a spiritual retreat with. CoffeeFinding what chimes with you to nurture and support you during these times is important, whatever it is. I am reading about Miriam Margolyes at the moment, she is so funny.

Good to read about others on this journey. I had so many people being positive with me, they are very kind but don't really know what it feels like.

Thank you. Hopefully our stories on the other side if this will inspire others. Treatment plan on 31st Jan. I had 4 wks to wait for results because of Christmas. A lot of waiting.

Best possible outcome for us all. PrayPurple heart

  • Hey Sabrina, if you got any links that have helped you do share. Angels, meditation, spirit guides anything. I find it calming. Thanks and best wishes Heart️

  • Hi Brian you can see them on YouTube. Glenn Harold, Chrissie Astell and Kyle Gray. Jon Kabat Zinn was the inspiration for many who took up meditation in the 70s. He has lots on YouTube. Anita Moorjani too posts some of hers on YouTube too. Angels are waiting for us to call them in, we all have a Guardian Angel quietening the mind hapls this process.

I was drawn to this stuff about 15 yrs ago. I am a great believer the spirit lives on. I have a Glenn Harold disc I use, a guided meditation, it helps me when stressed.

    Hope that helps. X

  • Thanks Sabrina, it does help. Keeps me hopeful cause I have a tendency to get a tad nihilistic. Will check your suggestions Heart

  • Hi Brian just out yesterday I don't need chemo. Oncotype DX came back low, 6. Started Letrozole. Xx

  • Congratulations That’s great news right? Best of luck with the next steps!

  • While I haven't personally tried TM, I've been exploring different meditation techniques myself. One that has really resonated with me is chit shakti meditation. It's helped me find a sense of peace and clarity. TM is said to be a unique form of meditation that involves using a personalized mantra. Some people find it helpful for anxiety and managing treatment side effects. If you're looking for a deeper level of intensity and specific guidance, investing in a TM course with an approved instructor might be worth considering. Ultimately, it's all about finding what works best for you and your well-being. Whether it's TM, chit shakti, or any other form of meditation, the key is to make it a regular practice and listen to what your mind and body need
