Hi, no judgement please. I've finished treatment for breast cancer and am now in remission. I feel a bit washed out and drawn. I've been thinking about having some botox just to give me a bit of a lift and boost my confidence. I lost all my hair and although it's back, I still don't feel like me. I just want to know if its safe for me to have botox, I'm terrified of putting anything into my body and causing the cancer to come back.

  • Hi  I'm just about to start my radiotherapy after having my surgery 6 weeks ago and soon as it's finished I will be sprinting as fast as my fat little legs will carry me to get my Botox!  I'm 57 and have been having it for about 8 years now.  I see a Doctor who is one of the best practitioners in the North West and he tells me that he sees lots of women that have gone through cancer treatment and go to see him for fillers and Botox.  He told me he wouldn't do anything that posed any risk and there is lots of research that shows it's perfectly safe because it's non invasive and there have been studies where patients had Botox and fillers while undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy with absolutely no problems at all.  We need to feel good about ourselves and if Botox helps, do it.

  • 200 % you deserve it. I am now 1 year post surgery and only now feel a little more like me! In 2 weeks I am having fillers! It’s taught me to live for today and enjoy every minute. I am 59. Good luck xxxxx

  • First off, congrats on finishing treatment and being in remission! That's freaking awesome! Don't worry, we're all here to support you and there's no judgement here. As for your question about botox, we totally get your fear of putting anything into your body that might cause the cancer to come back. It's totally understandable. On another note, have you considered filler treatment? It can also give you a bit of a lift and boost your confidence. We found a really cool place in Woodland Hills that offers it, https://rawbeautyaesthetics.com/services/filler-treatment-in-woodland-hills-ca/. Remember, it's all about doing what makes you feel good and confident.

  • I totally understand your concerns about Botox post-treatment. Safety is the priority, right? It's smart to be cautious. But from what I've gathered, Botox is generally considered safe after cancer treatment. However, chatting with your doctor is a must, just to make sure it aligns with your specific situation. Also, have you checked out Argireline? It's like this natural peptide that's getting some buzz for giving your skin a lift without any invasive stuff. It might be worth exploring as a gentler option.
