Hello,
I had some back pain at the beginning of June during my treatment and the GP sent me for plain xrays which came back clear,
Since finishing my treatment of Chemo and radiotherapy the shoulder pain and lower back pain has increased with pins and needles in both my legs and arms., generally all the symptoms of spine metastases. I am on anastrozole and herceptin, both of which can cause strange sensations and pins and needles but sadly I suspect the worst and will see the GP again tomorrow. Getting to even speak to the oncologist is impossible.
As you can imagine I am at an all-time low as I was returning to work and looking forward to a short post treatment and return to some normality holiday in October with my husband., post treatment.I hadn't expected this quite so soon.
I just wondered if anyone else has had anything similar happen to them.
Thank you
Thank you for some reassurance. Maybe it's the result of all the drugs that are so tough on the body but hopefully the cancer too.
Lots of blood tests tomorrow to check calcium levels.
What an anxiety making process this all is.
Thank you again for taking the time to reply . xx
Sometimes we get pins and needles as we recover from paclitaxel or docetaxel peripheral neuropathy. My radiotherapy has given me increased pins and needles in my treatment side compared with the other one too. My toes regularly prickle too. The hormone therapy can cause aches and pains and the aches from chemo took a few months to settle for me. I think the steroids wrecked my thigh muscles and then I had aches here and there that I was convinced were sinister, but weren't. You are right to check things out with your BCN or your GP though. I have asked about my aches and pains too. Now 6 months on and still pins and needles, some sore ribs from radiotherapy and an achy treatment shoulder and arm. Hormone therapy causes a bit of back and foot ache too. All manageable but definitely real. x
