Hi there!
I had a lumpectomy back in May and a week of radiation roughly about a month ago. Recently I have been doing high intensity exercise. I have found after sessions I’m very fatigued, I mean so fatigued I can’t think straight and become anxious and agitated with everything around me. I suffer from anxiety anyway but this is a new level. I woke up feeling sick and knackered this morning and it’s been a couple of days since my last exercise session. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it too soon to be doing intensive exercise or could there be something underlying??
Hi, I finished three weeks of radiation exactly a year ago. It was ok - got a couple of tiny blisters and some soreness. I went for daily walks. Then about a month after, and on the way home from somewhere (normally a short 10 minute walk), I noticed that I felt exhausted. I’m could barely walk home, and I wasn’t sure that I would be able to make it (I did). It came from nowhere, and for a few weeks after I was much more fatigued than normal. I seem to remember reading somewhere that variation tiredness can be a delayed side affect. X
Hi both of you, I just wondered how you are now. My radiotherapy was in Feb. I wasl and dance, which is very physical. I get the fatigue if I overdo it. Did about 8,000 steps on Sunday and my knee pain started. I know after I've had a dance and maybe a dog walk my energy just drops. I could hardly walk up the steps the other day.
My question is, does it get better or this it now? I've been on Letrozole for just over 3 mths. Got to fight on I think.
Ok that's useful to know. I have osteoporisis and osteoarthritis., I need to be active. Gained weight as well with this bitch C. It ain't going to win. At least it's nearly Summer now. One of the Ladies I dance with when told she was going to get palliative care, she told them , I don't think so. She's just had her 3rd op to remove a tumour. Fantastic role model. She having a fourth to remove a tumour in her lung. She still comes to classes, isn't too sprightly but has all the makeup and dresses up.
Hi, that is an inspiring lady!! Well done her. You are lucky to have such a role model. I know a few stage 4 ladies ( not just breast cancer) and they live life to the full, although none are able to be as active as your friend. But certainly, yes, to look at them, you would never know. Xx
Just a thought - I was very tired after surgery. radiotherapy and anastrozole and just put it down to all the treatment. But a blood test showed that my iron was really low - I feel so much better now I'm on iron tablets. So, always worth asking GP or BCN if tiredness could be something else.
