Hi All
I haven't posted here before but have answered several posts. Just wanted to say that there is light at the end of the tunnel so never give up even when everything looks dark. On 15th August I went through my 3rd lumpectomy in the hope to get a clear margin. Previous to this I had 2 lumpectomies and chemotherapy (3 x EC and 9 Paclitaxal). I never thought that I would get to the end of what has been a nightmare and has taken exactly 1 year of my life. However, all of this came to a happy ending (of sorts) today when I met with my consultant who let me know that the last lumpectomy was a success - there were some cancer cells in the pieces removed but there was nothing close to the margin which means that it has now all gone. I now have to have 15 days of radiotherapy followed by letrozole and 3 years of biphosphonates (twice each year) but that I can deal with. So the purpose of my message is never to give up, stay positive (easy to say I know and I can't tell you how many times people said that to me). I got to this point because of the amazing people who have helped me along the way. It has been one heck of a journey that I thought would never end and I would like to say that I am a better person for it but I think that would be untrue although I am a very grateful person that is for sure. So I think that the purpose of this is to say we are all in it together but there is hope and with this amazing support we will.
