I’ve coped with chemotherapy quite well but it’s catching up the last few days, no energy falling asleep then waking up feeling like I’m on a different planet. Last night I lay on bed as had wobbly legs woke up and just got in bed, I’ve got pains in lower back and pressure in stomach and generally do not feel well, should I be worried or get in with it, I’m a full time carer and I try to hide how I feel but it’s getting harder and harder. Any advice please x
Hi Jueroo so sorry to hear this. Whilst the effects can be cumulative, I would suggest chatting to your chemo nurse. They try really hard these days to help manage the side effects so I think they'd want to know and help. Best wishes
Hi Jueroo
Just to add, as you say you are a full time carer - if this is a carer for a loved one, rather than an employer it will definitely be important to speak to your team and get social services involved to get support for your caring role. If you are an unpaid carer, it is too much for you to be coping with your own medical issues and caring for someone else. The local council can get paid carers to come out regularly to support any caring role if they are instructed. Perhaps contact your own GP to discuss this if it's quicker than the oncology team.
Kindest wishes, Lesley
Thankyou everyone I’m going to speak to my chemo nurse tomorrow and get myself sorted xx
