My husband tested positive for COVID this morning. I have tested negative. I have had six of my 19 sessions of radiotherapy, another one due this evening. We are now wearing masks in the house, he is banned from the kitchen and we are using separate bathrooms. Now I' don't know what to do...should I just go as normal for my treatment and continue to test daily? The last thing that I want is for treatment to be postponed, but obviously if it has to be it has to be. I just don't know the protocol when it comes to having been in contact, but still testing negative? What a mess. Any help would be appreciated.
I agree with Karen Dicha that the best thing to do is to ring the radiotherapy unit for advice. I'm currently having chemo and they ask me before each treatment do I have covid or have I come into contact with anyone who has covid.

Hi Dicha, just to add, think I’ve seen previous posts where in this sort of scenario people were given the last appointment of the day to avoid contacts. Fingers crossed that your treatment can still go ahead, sorry you have this additional worry. Also just tagging the lovely Exraygirl as she may have some information. Love and hugs, HFxx
This happened to me exactly a year ago today! Phone the hospital & tell them the situation. I had the option of delaying my treatment by a week although I don’t think they’d want to do this as you are already a long way in. I was given the last appointment of the day so I didn’t come into contact with anyone vulnerable. I took dally LFT’s - all negative. They basically treated me as though I was positive wore full PPE. Best thing was I got parked without any issues & no hanging around. Good luck.
Hi Dicha
In the UK I believe most departments would ask you to continue to test daily and change your appointment to the last slot of the day so you come into contact with less people They continue treatment even if you test positive..
it would be best to speak to the RT dept as I know you are in Spain and things may be different there
You are doing the right thing by trying to stay separate at home as much as possible.
Fingers crossed you won’t get it and your treatment can continue as normal.xx
Hi xraygirl, April2021 and happyfeet1,
Thanks all of you for that! I think that as I'm pretty much the last patient of the day at 8pm, I should be safely not mixing with too many people! This is really the last thing I needed to be honest, but it's happened, and you just have to deal with the nice parcels life can throw at you I suppose. I'll continue to test daily and just hope and pray I am lucky and don't get a positive reading. Hope you are all doing ok? X
Hi Dicha
Thanks for asking after me. I'm a week past my second cycle of chemotherapy. The first one wasn't too bad and I'm hoping this one will follow a similar pattern which would mean I'll be feeling 'normal' again in a few more days time.

Thanks for the tag HappyFeet1
Hope you are doing ok xx
