6 weeks ago I found a lump and went to gp that referred me to breast unit so waited two weeks for that doctor thought it’s either a infection cyst or abscess due to nipple piercing which I’ve removed went for ultrasound and mammogram came bk abscess then got it drained then sent to lab came bk infection so was on antibiotics of two weeks then week after that blister formed with redness where they drained so had a incision with 100ml green fluid. But on co amaxiclav antibiotics for two weeks with open wound so having to get dressings daily it’s been four weeks and today when I went for ultrasound there saying no change the abcess is still there and done a biopsy I don’t no what’s going on has anyone else had this problem I’m not breastfeeding or lactating my youngest is 8 can some one please help I’m freaking out.
Not sure what to say, but it does sound like an infection. We’re all terrified of cancer, but it’s not necessarily BC! Just make sure they keep an eye on things. Try not to think the worst, I’m no doctor, but cancer usually presents as a mass? I know there are many different types, but at least you’re dealing with it. And I’m sure you’ll have some answers soon, at which time they’ll sort out a solution. Who knows, it may disappear as quickly as it came! Keep posting, best of luck xxxx
Thanks for the reply well I seen my nurse yesterday who does my daily dressings and she said the mass was a Ill defined mobile mass in-line with abscess so the mass was the abscess?? And they still think it’s abscess but they don’t understand why they didn’t do biopsy when they did the incision where they took 100mls of pus ! I’m just confused
Maybe they’re not doing a biopsy because they don’t think it is BC, that’s a possibility I suppose! But if it would put your mind at rest, perhaps you could request one or ask why they’re not giving you one. Has any of the health professionals mentioned that it could be BC? x
