Hi all, I hope everyone is doing ok x

I just have a question, I went for a ct scan, waiting for the  results, I have just had a call asking me to go and see the consultant in 2 weeks and I'm kind of thinking as a positive that it hasn't spread as they haven't requested an mri . Just wondering if thats how it works or they tell you when you go to see them if  something has shown on the ct and then they send you for an mri, just over worrying I guess x

  • I had a ct chest/abdo/pelvis and MRI of breasts.  (both clear.)  But it might be different for different people depending on diagnosis and details.

They might just want you to go to discuss your management plan.

It's really difficult waiting isn't it and you imagine all sorts of scenarios.

Hope things are good for you xx

  • Hi kippy

I only had lots of CT scans chest, abdomen etc I also had a bone scan which took nearly an hour and I never had an MRI but had a full body PET scan which is more in depth than an MRI as my lymph nodes were affected. It was always horrible waiting for results, it all depends on your hospital and treating team they all do things differently.  Best wishes

    Xxx

Hi Pusheen, wow thats alot of investigations, I wish as I suppose most people do, for everything to be done in a day, maybe in the future,  but for now we have to try and carry on as best we can

    Best wishes to you x

  • Hi Kippy. I've had initial ultrasound scan, MRI, biopsy, surgery for lumpectomy, bone density scan, ultrasound scan of abdomen, lungs, kidneys, liver, stomach and bladder, blood tests galore. Next appointment is next Friday to see oncologist. I'm hoping that at this appointment I will be given the all clear for radiotherapy to start, hormone medication to be prescribed and possibly be told when the BRCA test they would like to be done will take place. It is so difficult, the waiting, but it's also reassuring that they are looking into everything they possibly can and my treatment plan is all ready for me once they've ruled out any further risks. I have quite a history of Cancer in my family, so I'm just grateful for all that's being done. Hold on in there, we've got this!!
